More of Lots of Hockey

Today is another one of those lots of Hockey days. We start on April 2, 1964 in the American Hockey League at Rhode Island Auditorium at Providence, RI. The hometown Providence Reds beat the Hershey Bears 11-3 to tie their playoff series at 1 game each. Two nights later, the Reds won the best of three series.

We travel 5 years and a short distance away to the Boston Garden. The Bruins were determined to get off to good start in the Eastern conference semi final series against the Toronto Maple Leafs. They pummeled the Maple Leafs 10-0 and went on to to win the series in a 4 game series sweep.

We travel across the Canadian border and into the 1970s. We arrive in 1977 at the Montreal Forum, where the Montreal Canadians took out the Washington Capitols by a score of 11-0.

We finally arrive at April 2, 2000 at the WesBanco Arena in Wheeling, West Virginia for an East coast Hockey League game. Thanks to a 7 goal third period the hometown Wheeling Nailers blow out the Toledo Storm by a score of 14-2.

The answer to yesterdays trivia question is the Orange Tornadoes played in the National Football League in 1929-30. Todays trivia question is in what years did the New York Yankees played in the National Football League? The answer in tommorrows daily blog about a very long Hockey game.
