More Three Pointers- Bryant Style

One of the more interesting games statisically played between the Lakers and the Clippers was played on March 27, 1980 at the Forum in Los Angeles. The Clippers beat the Lakers at the free throw line outscoring the Lakers 7-2. The San Diego club attempted 9 of the games 12 three point shots. Freemen Williams of the Clippers was the only player in the game to cconnect on a three point attempt. The Lakers did win the game by a score of 126-88. Among the players in the game for San Diego were Joe Bryant, who is the father of current Lakers great Kobe Bryant.

Fast forwarding 23 years and one generation later, we arrive at the Staples Center where the Lakers are playing the Washington Wizards. Joe Bryants son Kobe scored 8 three pointers in the first half on his way to 55 points. The game was the last meeting between Kobe and Hall of Famer Michael Jordan.

The answer to yesterdays triivia question is Rex Hudler. The Tempe born Hudler spent 13 years in the majors between the Yankees, the Orioles, the Cardinals, the Expos, the Phillies and the Angels. He did all that and still had time for a season in Japan. After retiring he spent time as an announcer for the Anaheim Angels.

Todays trivia question is what years did the Continental Indoor Soccer League operate? the answer in tomorrows daily blog about a very long boxing match.
