A Look at the International Side

I have found that many of the readers of this blog are folks from other countries. I have no idea who you are, I would like to know who is reading my blog both here in the United States and aboard. I really want to know what my readers think. Today in the honor of my international readers, I am going to take a look at international sporting events that took place outside the USA.
I start on January 6, 1936 at Edgeley Park Stadium in Stockport in the greater Manchester area of the UK, the Home of the Stockport County FC. On this particular day they were visited by the Halifax Town club for a Third division North match. The home club scored an amazing league rcord of 13 goals to take a 13-0 victory on their way to a division title.
We travel back to Mexico for January 6, 1957 Mexican Pacific Coast League doubleheader at Cuidad Obregon. In the first game Dallas, Texas born Barney C. Serrell of the Los Mochis Club had 4 home runs and 7 RBIs to the visitors to a 9-8 win in 11 innings. Serrell however never got his chance to play professionally in the States leaving the game after 3 years in the Mexican League. In the nightcap the home club scored a 12-10 win in 13 innings.
We move on to 1959 where baseball play resumed in the Cuban League just six days after the Castro Revolution put things on hold and forever altered the History of the Cuban nation.
We travel forward to Harbin, China and January 6, 2003 when the Macau National Ice Hockey team made its international debut in a game against Hong Kong. The game was a disaster for the new club taking a 30-0 thrashing by the Hong Kong Club.
Tomorrow we take a very early look at boxing in Australia.
