A Big Bulls game

Today marks the anniversary of one of biggest games in the early history of the team. The game occurred well before the Michael Jordan era rolled into town. It was January 8, 1970 when the Phoenix Suns arrived at Chicago Stadium for a game wit the slumping Bulls. The Bulls who had won only 2 of their last 9 games, were going to give the fans quite a scoring show.
By halftime the Bulls had a set a club record with a 78-51. Had they scored one more point in the second quarter, they would have tied the club mark for most points in a quarter. By the time the dust setled the Bulls came away with a club record 152-123 win. They attempted 71 free throws in the game with 48 of them in one half. They had 4 players with 21 or more points in the game. Bob Boerwinkle of the Bulls had a club record 37 rebounds. The Bulls have had many more memoable games since.
Tomorrow we will look at another long time sports team and their beginnings.
